The Women Veterans Program Manager (WVPM) is designated as the manager for all women veterans programs in the VA Boston Health Care System. The incumbent functions in a full-time WVPM capacity with overall responsibility for ensuring the delivery of quality services to women veterans giving guidance and leadership to the VA Boston Health Care System. The WVPM executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex client care. The WVPM exhibits leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for women veterans as a population and as an integrated program that crosses services/ and or discipline lines and influences the organizational mission and health care at the VA Boston Health Care System. The WVPM functions in a variety of roles impacting clinical centers or service lines, or multi site facilities to improve overall outcomes for women veterans. The effect of the WVPM’s practice goes beyond the Women’s Health Center or team to encompass the Women Veterans Health Program facility-wide. The position is located at the VA Boston Health Care System, Brockton and Jamaica Plain campuses and is professionally and administratively responsible to the Chief of Staff, Medical Center Director, Associate Director, or comparable local management level leader, and the Deputy Field Director for the Women’s Health Program. Duties include but are not limited to: collaborating with physicians, peers, and others in the development of individualized patient care to veteran women; enhancing services which are specific and unique to the needs of women; planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and evaluating facility services and programs including educational programs; collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data concerning female veterans; monitoring indicators and initiatives relating to specialty services, reviewing Quality Management reports, KLF data, and Advanced Clinical Access data on an on-going basis and compiling demographic and health-related research data for local, regional and national projects, as appropriate.
