Intermountain Medical Center´s newborn intensive care unit (NICU) offers advanced, high-tech care from specially-trained physicians and nurses to save the lives and improve the outcomes of babies born with complications throughout the Intermountain west. Advanced, high-tech care for premature and sick babies is offered in an environment that features more privacy, less noise, and less stress. The NICU offers the most advanced level of newborn care available in the Intermountain region and some new features designed to make the unit more comfortable for moms, dads, and families. The unit offers 48 bassinets connected to the latest neonatal technology. Intermountain Medical Center´s 48 bassinets are located in 12 private or semi-private rooms organized in four small patient care units. Nurses provide high tech care including high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide, and circulating in PDA ligations while promoting a family-centered environment.
UT RN licensure (or license eligible) and CPR certification is required. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to transfer and position patients independently and safely. New graduates must have NICU preceptor or capstone experience/ or 1 year RN experience.
