This position is located in Mira Mesa. Floats to various departments.
Hours
8-hour shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; no weekends. Start time range from 7:30 am to 8:30 am.
Qualifications
# Current Licensed Vocational Nurse licensure required.
# Current BCLS certification required.
# IV certification preferred.
# Computer and keyboarding skills required (30 wpm).
# Exceptional customer service, quality care focus, and technical skill a must.
# Strong sense of team work and accountability.
# Knowledge of sterile technique.
# Previous ambulatory care experience preferred.
Summary
Provides float nursing coverage in both primary and a wide range of specialty care departments at two clinics. Ensures smooth patient flow and clinic operation. Places patients in exam rooms, prepares them for exam, assists with minor office procedures.
Physical Requirements
Alternates walking/standing/sitting throughout the day. Assists patients with preparation for examination. Transfer medium to large patients, up to 200 pounds to and from wheelchair and exam table. Sits at computer terminal and uses keyboard 4-6 hours/day with repetitive wrist motion. Operates medical equipment which involves manual dexterity. Reads handwritten and printed text. Reaches overhead. Stoops/bends/kneels. Lifts up to 25 pounds of medical supplies, charts and equipment. Uses telephone regularly. Must be able to hear and speak clearly by telephone.
