Description    Position Summary:
The LVN assists with the planning, providing and implementing comprehensive nursing care while maintaining an advanced level of practical skills. Demonstrates proficiency in administering medications by passing the medication test during orientation. He/she functions under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. The LVN assists in maintaining a safe work environment and performs all related job responsibilities in a safe manner. The LVN maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Assumes, under the direction of the Laboratory, responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications/Specifications:
* Education: Graduate of a nursing program

* Licensure/certification: Currently state licensed as a licensed vocational nurse or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact. Current BLS certification required.

* Experience: At least one year adult, acute care with cardiology/cardiovascular nursing.
