Registered Charge Nurse Positions: Denton, TX, Lewisville, TX and Tyler, TXWhile supporting the Clinical Coordinator on a daily basis, the Charge Nurse assumes responsibility for safe and effective delivery of patient care while providing clinical oversight and leadership to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel by providing direction, delegating appropriate tasks and monitoring compliance to company policies and procedures that is consistent with the state, federal and company guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Prepares patient care assignments based on patient needs and acuity
Provides supervision of direct patient care staff
Reports and provides patient assessments communicating to the care team
Provides daily communication with all disciplines to assure safe and effective care
Assures complete and accurate daily QCS documentation and reporting in an efficient and timely manner
Completes daily patient scheduling and daily staff assignments ensuring completion of staff tasks
Assists with MD rounds and processes/completes order and changes
Communicates patient condition changes and/or problems on an ongoing basis
Completes new admission process for new/first treatment patients
Delegates/performs admission assessment on all patients as well as on-going assessment
Evaluates plan of care implemented and patient's response to treatment
Demonstrates competencies in all facilities policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all clinical and technical issues
Assists in the implementation of CQI improvement activities; participates on committees, task forces and work groups on a voluntary and appointed basis
Reviews and verifies completion of required water testing water testing each patient shift
Completes review of all lab reports communicating changes to appropriate discipline; uses protocols to make appropriate medication changes
Completes daily run/flow sheet review on all treatments
Oversees/delegates home medication reviews on all patients
Assesses patient and family learning needs formulating a patient teaching plan
Demonstrates appropriate emergency response following established protocols and completes all documentation in accordance with company policy
Enforces all HIPPA compliance policies
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must have a current state professional nursing licensure with a minimum of 6 months dialysis experience.
