The largest acute care hospital in Marin County with 235 licensed beds, Marin General Hospital works in close partnership with Novato Community Hospital to provide for the health care needs of 175,000 residents of Marin County. Primary and secondary levels of care include a basic emergency department, neonatal intensive care, pediatrics, a family birthing center, home care, adult psychiatric units and a cardiac catheterization laboratory. The Marin Cancer Institute, Marin Heart Institute and a Shared Care Unit, which provides family-centered care for patients with cancer, diabetes, or AIDS, offer extended health care services to the community.

A Registered Nurse who provides and coordinates educational activities which promote the continuing development of nursing personnel in the assigned clinical region on a 24-hour basis. These activities include competency validation and other planned programs and activities that are based on identified learning needs and that are reflective of current advances in nursing clinical practice. Also provides Quality Assurance supervision, ICU, ED, Trauma and Stroke Program data base supervision, coordination of patient education, policy and protocol coordination. Represents Critical Care and Trauma Services on various committees.
